  • Author: Luna
  • Total Time: 19 minutes
  • Yield: 2 sandwiches 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 lb (225g) beef chip steak, sliced thin
  • 2 hoagie rolls or sandwich buns
  • 1/2 onion, sliced
  • 1/2 green bell pepper (optional), sliced
  • 4 slices provolone cheese or cheese sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add sliced onions (and peppers, if used). Cook for 3–4 minutes until soft.
  • Push vegetables to one side of the pan. Add the beef chip steak slices.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Cook for 2–3 minutes, stirring often.
  • Mix steak and vegetables together in the skillet.
  • Split hoagie rolls and fill with the hot beef and onion mix.
  • Top with cheese slices. Let melt or place sandwich in the oven for 2 minutes.
  • Serve hot with fries or a salad.

Notes

  • Use cheese sauce instead of slices for extra creaminess.
  • You can toast the bread for more crunch.
  • Works great with leftover chip steak.
