Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 lb (225g) beef chip steak, sliced thin
- 2 hoagie rolls or sandwich buns
- 1/2 onion, sliced
- 1/2 green bell pepper (optional), sliced
- 4 slices provolone cheese or cheese sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Garlic powder (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add sliced onions (and peppers, if used). Cook for 3–4 minutes until soft.
- Push vegetables to one side of the pan. Add the beef chip steak slices.
- Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Cook for 2–3 minutes, stirring often.
- Mix steak and vegetables together in the skillet.
- Split hoagie rolls and fill with the hot beef and onion mix.
- Top with cheese slices. Let melt or place sandwich in the oven for 2 minutes.
- Serve hot with fries or a salad.
Notes
- Use cheese sauce instead of slices for extra creaminess.
- You can toast the bread for more crunch.
- Works great with leftover chip steak.
